Most mornings start with a dispatch call and end with a homeowner who has heat again, or cold air again, or can finally breathe easy in a house that was making everyone miserable. That’s the job. It isn’t glamorous in the way a brochure would have you believe, but it’s real work that stays done – and when you do it the Fireside way, you leave a house better than you found it and you know it. We’ve been doing this since 1984, and the thing that hasn’t changed is the standard: every technician on every job, whether it’s the first call of the morning or the last one on a Friday, does it right. If you’re the kind of person who takes that personally – who can’t leave a job half-finished – keep reading.
Who We’re Looking For
- HVAC Service Technician – Someone who can diagnose a system that three other people gave up on, and explain what they found in plain English without talking down to the homeowner.
- HVAC Installer – A person who reads a space before they start cutting, plans the run properly, and still takes the time to put shoe covers on at the door.
- Apprentice Technician – Curious, willing to carry the heavy end, and honest enough to say “I don’t know yet” while learning fast enough that they won’t have to say it for long.
- Heat Pump and Mini-Split Specialist – Someone who’s put in the time with variable-speed and inverter-driven equipment and can walk a homeowner through what they’re getting without reading off a spec sheet.
- Dispatcher / Service Coordinator – A calm voice on the other end of a stressful call – organized under pressure, good at matching the right technician to the right job, and never makes a customer feel like a number.
- Customer Service Representative – The person who answers at 2 a.m. when someone’s heat is out and the temperature is dropping; they set the tone for every job before the truck even rolls.
What We Offer
A Real Path – Not Just a Job
Fireside runs a structured apprentice-to-lead track, and we mean it. You come in learning the basics under a journeyman. You leave knowing the whole system – diagnosis, installation, air quality, commercial calls – with each step laid out clearly before you’re expected to take it. We’ve watched a lot of people grow into lead techs and supervisors here, and we plan to keep doing that.
Work You Can Stand Behind
Every job at Fireside is backed by the 90-Day Done Right Promise – the Keystone Standard applied to heating and cooling. That means when you close a job, it stays closed. We don’t cut corners to make a number, and we don’t ask you to. The price quoted is the price paid, no upselling, no pressure. When you work that way, you can look a homeowner in the eye before you leave.
Local Crew, National Support
We’re part of the Keystone family of companies, which means the training, the tools, and the technical resources of a national brand are behind you – but you’re working with a local crew that knows your service area, your community, and the specific quirks of how houses are built and how weather behaves in your region. You’re not a number in a national call center. You’re a name on a local truck.
Steady Demand
Heating and cooling don’t take recessions off. People need working HVAC in July just as badly as they need it in January, and Fireside is trained to service nine major brands – Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard – which means we can take jobs most shops turn away. A full service menu and a 42-year reputation keep the schedule full.
No Experience? Read This.
If you’ve spent time working with your hands – construction, plumbing, electrical, auto mechanics, military technical work – you already know more than you think you do. Reading a system, tracing a problem to its source, working carefully in someone else’s space: those habits transfer directly. What you don’t know yet, we teach. The first months are structured: you work alongside an experienced technician, you learn the tools, you learn the brands, and you learn the Fireside way of walking into a home and treating it the way you’d want someone to treat your mother’s house. Nobody expects you to know everything on day one. We expect you to pay attention, ask the right questions, and do what you say you’re going to do. The technical side comes with time. The character side you bring with you.
